Queenscliff Gallery (QG) has been in operation since Dec 2015. The gallery has a strong focus on Australian printmakers and/or Australian artists who include works on paper within their practice.

Artists represented/exhibiting at QG are at various stages of their careers although most artists are mid to senior-level – our aim is to establish the gallery as one that offers exclusive representation.

The gallery directors believe in the classical form of representation where the gallery seeks to further the artist’s career and increase the value of their artwork over time. It takes commitment from both parties – the gallery directors requiring professional experience in creative direction, promotion and marketing, and above all, relationship building.

QG now has three exhibition formats – solo, focus and group. Solo exhibitions are open to mid to high-level existing QG represented artists or feature exhibitions (such as the Peebles Print Prize), focus exhibitions are centred around the partition walls of the gallery, and together with the gallery racks the exterior gallery walls offer continuous exhibition opportunities.

QG has filled their calendar for most of 2022 and until mid-year 2023 and is only able to accept submissions for consideration from artists mid to high career level for either focus or group opportunities. The focus and group exhibition formats work well as artist introduction opportunities.

Criteria more specifically are:

  • Australian artists seeking long-term commitment and representation
  • Commitment from the artist to have work available at QG for a minimum of 18 months
  • Artists must be of mid to established career level
  • Works need to be available for preview before the exhibition and remain at the gallery (where negotiated) after the exhibition
  • Painting, sculpture and/or other mediums are acceptable however prints/works on paper must be/will often form the focus
  • Photography, digital prints and art reproductions do not fit the criteria
  • Exhibiting at QG is free (artists may contribute to special advertising)
  • QG manages all promotional marketing associated with exhibiting at no cost to the artist
