Evan Salmon has held 26 solo exhibitions across Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide since 1993 and he is represented in public and private collections in Australia and overseas, including the Australian National Gallery, NSW Parliament, University of Technology Sydney, Art Bank, Wollongong Art Gallery, Wollongong University, Maitland Regional Art Gallery and the National Art School, Sydney.
Evan has been the recipient of many prizes including the NSW Parliament Plein Air Painting Prize (2015), Gosford Art Prize (2009) and the Alvaro Painting Prize (2006). He was selected for the Salon des Refuses six times between 2012 and 2017 and was a finalist in the Sulman Prize in 2005.
Now residing in Port Kembla, the industrial landscape – ever popular with many artists now also makes its way into Evan’s paintings, drawings and also etchings which are created with master printer, Tom Goulder. A distinguishing factor in Evan’s practice is that regardless of medium, all works are created en plein air.
Queenscliff Gallery & Workshop look forward to hosting a solo exhibition of works by Evan Salmon in 2021.
