Marian
Crawford

Born 1955, Melbourne, Victoria.

Marian Crawford is a visual artist whose works explore the relationships between the book, fine art printmaking processes, and the printed image in contemporary culture. She is a senior lecturer in Fine Art at Monash Art Design & Architecture, Melbourne, Australia, where she has worked for just over ten years.

She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally since 1996. Her works were recently presented in exhibitions at Geelong Gallery; State Library of Victoria, Melbourne in 2017; the University of South Australia’s SASA Gallery and at RMIT Gallery, Melbourne in 2016; at the Museum of the China Academy of Art, Hangzhou, China and the Dunedin School of Art Gallery, Dunedin, NZ in 2015.

Her writings about the book and the artist book appear in Verso Magazine, 2015—2016, and in 2015/16 she was awarded the Siganto Fellowship at the State Library of Queensland. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Melbourne University), a Bachelor of Fine Art (Victorian College of the Arts) and a Master of Arts (by Research), from RMIT University, Melbourne.
