It’s been a great week! Directors of Queenscliff Gallery (QG), Soula and Theo Mantalvanos, attended two exciting cultural events in Queenscliff and Geelong.
It was the Geelong Gallery’s 7th annual Geelong Contemporary soirée, where 170 art enthusiasts gathered to hear Director and CEO Jason Smith, Senior Curator Lisa Sullivan, and Assistant Curator Katarina Paseta discuss three contemporary artists’ proposed works for acquisition into the Gallery’s collection.
Lon Retreat directors Rob Gemes and Claire Gemes (pictured) offered a luxurious stay to help raise funds for acquiring these new works, making it an exciting opportunity for art lovers to connect with the local art scene and contribute to its growth.
Soula and Theo return to Geelong Gallery next week for a lead-up celebration for the much anticipated Clarice Beckett exhibition.
Later in the week, at the Queenscliff Town Hall, Theo and Soula (pictured with friend and local Susan Weston) also attended the launch of the Queenscliffe Literary Festival (QLF), where a fabulous discussion unfolded between Osman Faruqi and Tom Ballard.
Taking place over three weekends in May, the QLF program is a jam-packed and impressive lineup of literary events which book out very fast, so be quick to visit the website to reserve seats.
