Andrew Gunnell

Born 1974, Melbourne, Vic.

In the studio, Andrew contrasts traditional and slow techniques with contemporary and rapid techniques to visualise potential influences of mobility and duration on a perception of landscape.

Andrew Gunnell is an Australian artist with a practice located at the intersections of Print, Photo and Paint.

Andrew has participated in over 70 solo and group exhibitions. Recent exhibitions include Moving Still, (Solo), Site Eight Gallery, RMIT University, Melbourne. The 2023 Experimental Print Prize, Castlemaine Art Museum. And Printmaking Today:2nd Edition, Soemardja Gallery, Centre of Art & Design, Institute of Technology, Bandung, Indonesia.

His work is held in several public and private collections, including the National Gallery of Australia, the Asia Pacific Photographic Archive, the Hong Kong Open Print Workshop, and the State Library of Victoria.

Andrew is the Print Studio Leader and Lecturer in the School of Art at RMIT University.
