In the launch week of Michael Leunig’s solo exhibition, Don’t Give Up, QG is enjoying a little frenzy of activity.

QG Directors first enjoyed a shoot with local photographer Ivan Kemp whose image accompanied two articles for news about Michael Leunig’s upcoming exhibition in the Geelong Independent and The Ocean Grove Voice local newspapers.

On Monday morning, Theo Mantalvanos joined Rob Cameron’s Front Page on 94.7FM The Pulse live while behind the scenes, the local interviewer (and media superstar as far as QG is concerned!) Jessie Aiton sat down with Michael Leunig as he delivered his works to QG to record an interview.

Michael and Jessie discussed what it is to be in chaos, Michael’s memory of his close friend Barry Humphries, and the difference between a cartoonist and an artist. The interview is due to be aired on The Pulse soon.

Michael Leunig’s, Don’t Give Up opens Thursday, May 11, and continues until May 28.

The exhibition is aligned with the Queenscliffe Literary Festival; it’s an excellent time for art and literature lovers to visit Queenscliff.
