Queenscliff Gallery’s director, Soula Mantalvanos, has made a captivating contribution to the group of swans scattered throughout the Borough of Queenscliffe, during this year’s Queenscliffe Literary Festival.

As part of this imaginative project instigated by the Queenscliffe Literary Festival team, local artists have adorned the swans with their visions which can be found in various stores and windows.

Swan Along Hesse Street by Soula features one of Soula’s printed proofs from her Hesse Street Streetscape etching collection and is meticulously paper macheéd onto the swan. Be sure to look inside the ornament to glimpse the local bookshop’s facade and lamp post.

This artistic endeavour adds vibrancy to the festival and celebrates local talent and the fusion of art and literature. The decorated swans serve as symbolic reminders of the powerful connection between storytelling and creativity.
